Our History
In 1946, Ray and Rita Lally opened a small service station in Comber Ontario, and immediately set a high standard for how their customers would be rewarded for doing business with their family.
During that time, the Lally's built a rock solid reputation for customer satisfaction that extended far beyond the confines of the tiny village. In the fall of 1982, the family brought their work ethic and customer-oriented manner of doing business under the Ford logo. Ray and Rita's son, Vince, who grew up learning the service business from his parents and became a licensed mechanic, purchased the Ford dealership from his parents 3 years later.
From the beginning, Lally Ford earned awards of excellence from Ford Motor Company, including the prestigious Distinguished Service Award and the Presidents Award 16 times.
In 1995, with so many satisfied customers returning to the dealership and continually referring their friends, family and co-workers to Lally Ford, the decision to expand could no longer be put off. So began the construction of the new Lally Ford dealership in the Tilbury Auto Mall.
It's a fresh new location with a great selection of new and used vehicles to choose from. But in the midst of all those changes, one thing has always remained constant with the Lally family, their employees and Lally Ford, putting the customer first. It's not just an advertising slogan, nor a hollow promise. With the Lally family, customer satisfaction has always been "Job One". that's never changed, and never will.
In 2001, to meet growing demand, we doubled the size of our Service Department with the addition of six more service bays. This means we can get your vehicle serviced, and you on your way faster than ever before. If your car needs overnight service, no problem, we will provide you with a service loaner vehicle so you won't be without a car. Also, in 2004 we added a new Automatic Car wash so that every vehicle we service gets a complementary wash in less than four minutes.
Community Service
Lally Ford's commitment to customer satisfaction isn't the only area of service where the dealership excels. When it comes to giving back to the community, Lally Ford takes a back seat to no one.
Whether it's providing employees a day off to volunteer for habitat for Humanity, raising money for the McCarty Cancer Foundation, or contributing to the construction of a new community centre in Comber, Lally Ford is always front and centre when there is a need to be met.
Closer to home, Lally Ford supports a number of worthwhile community causes. Its owner, Vince Lally, is an active Rotarian and past president of the Tilbury Rotary Club.
Lally Ford has also been a strong supporter of minor sports.
These are but a few examples of how Lally Ford supports those outside the dealership doors. There are many more, and with the continued support of Lally Ford customers, Lally Ford will continue to fulfill its self-appointed mandate to be among the best corporate citizens in the community.
